Initiatives
I bring research, culture, and communities into dialogue, transforming knowledge into tangible impact. Each project reflects my commitment to bridging disciplines, amplifying voices, and opening local knowledge to global conversations.
Institution-Building &
Regional Transformation

1. Building a University — Universidad de Aysén (2018–2023)
I contributed to the creation of Universidad de Aysén, one of Chile’s newest public universities, helping establish its research systems, academic governance, and institutional identity. This work involved founding the Research Directorate, defining research lines, implementing the CRIS system, and designing structures that integrated science, culture, and community within the Patagonian territory.

2. RESIDENCIA REMOTA (2021-2022)
I created RESIDENCIA REMOTA as a pioneering program designed to foster dialogue between artists, researchers, and local communities in the Aysén Region of Patagonia. Its purpose is to bring scientific research closer to society through artistic creation and the dissemination of research results while creating the first art collection of Universidad de Aysén, thought to be displayed permanently in its campus.
Research Systems &
Cultural Innovation

3. UAysén Isotope (2022–2023)
I led the implementation of UAysén Isotope, the first Current Research Information System (CRIS) at the Universidad de Aysén. The system streamlined reporting, improved research visibility, and reduced administrative workload for researchers, strengthening the university’s institutional capacity in R&D management. Additionally, it improved research visibility, institutional accountability, and strategic decision-making through open-data integration and analytics.

4. Slow Paths to Living Roots: Sustainable Rural Tourism through Patagonia's Cultural Heritage (2026-2029)
I developed this €3.5 million regional program for the Institute for Agricultural Development (INDAP Aysén), integrating the principles of slow tourism with the living heritage of southern Chile. Rooted in the rhythms of agricultural life, the program redefines how remote territories can connect identity, production, and experience into a holistic vision of development.
International Cooperation &
Institutional Ethics

5. MIMIR Andino — Erasmus+ Capacity Building (2018–2022)
I collaborated in MIMIR Andino, an EU-funded Erasmus+ project that connected 20 universities across Europe and Latin America to modernize research and innovation governance. I participated in the Institutional Management Model for Research and Innovation, a framework now used across several higher-education systems in the Andean region.

6. Gender Equity in Academia: Building Safe and Inclusive Institutions (2020-2022)
I contributed to the design and implementation of institutional gender policies in alignment with Chile’s Law 21.369 on sexual harassment and discrimination in higher education. Representing the Research Directorate, I participated on the university’s Gender Equality Policy, the Violence Response Model, and prevention and training plans. This work strengthened the university’s accreditation process and promoted a culture of equality and inclusion.
